Role Overview:

The Phlebotomist Trainer (Master Trainer) will be responsible for delivering high-quality training to participants aspiring to become professional Phlebotomists. The trainer will ensure that trainees gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in blood collection, biosafety, laboratory procedures, patient interaction, and allied healthcare protocols. The role also involves curriculum delivery, assessment, mentoring, and preparing students for certification and employment in the healthcare sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Training Delivery:

Conduct classroom and laboratory training sessions on phlebotomy techniques, specimen handling, infection control, and patient care.

Demonstrate standard and advanced blood collection methods, including venipuncture and capillary puncture.

Train students in biosafety guidelines, waste disposal, and biomedical ethics.

Curriculum Implementation:

Deliver the training curriculum as per the guidelines of the Sector Skill Council / NSDC / Healthcare SSC.

Customize teaching methods to suit the needs of trainees with varying levels of learning abilities.

Integrate On-the-Job Training (OJT) requirements with classroom sessions.

Practical Supervision:

Guide trainees in handling laboratory equipment and carrying out phlebotomy practices in simulated and live environments.

Supervise trainees during clinical exposure, ensuring adherence to safety standards.

Assessment & Evaluation:

Conduct periodic assessments (theoretical and practical) to evaluate student progress.

Prepare trainees for final assessments and certification examinations.

Provide constructive feedback and remedial support to underperforming candidates.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain training records, attendance, evaluation sheets, and progress reports.

Submit timely reports to the project coordinator/management as required.

Student Mentorship & Placement Support:

Motivate and counsel students on career opportunities in the healthcare sector.

Support trainees in developing employability skills and workplace readiness.

Coordinate with placement teams for successful trainee employment.

Quality & Compliance:

Ensure compliance with training standards, safety protocols, and certification requirements.

Keep updated with the latest phlebotomy practices, laboratory advancements, and healthcare industry trends.

Qualifications & Experience:

Educational Qualification:

Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT) / Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) / B.Sc. in Life Sciences (Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry) or equivalent.

Certification in Phlebotomy / Healthcare Trainer certification preferred.

Experience:

Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience as a Phlebotomist or Laboratory Technician in a hospital/diagnostic centre.

Minimum 2 years of training/teaching experience in healthcare or allied medical training programs.

Experience in handling skill development / CSR training projects will be an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong subject knowledge in phlebotomy and laboratory techniques.

Excellent communication and presentation skills (both Hindi and English, local language knowledge preferred).

Practical demonstration and hands-on training ability.

Patience, mentoring, and motivational skills.

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for training documentation.

Commitment to ethical practices, safety, and continuous learning.
